Short definition

An LED video wall is a seamless display surface made of individual LED modules that can be combined into nearly any size and shape. Unlike several displays mounted side by side, there are no visible frames. The key metric is the pixel pitch — the distance between two LEDs in millimeters.

Pixel Pitch: The Key Metric

Pixel pitch determines the distance at which an image appears sharp. A reception area where people walk closely past the wall needs a finer pitch than a stage with a large audience distance. A finer pitch means higher costs — which is why it's designed around viewing distance, not "as fine as possible."

Rule of thumb

The minimum viewing distance in meters roughly matches the pixel pitch value: a wall with a 2.5 mm pitch looks sharp from about 2.5 m onward.
